I've got two 8800gts's and I'm getting no fps inprovemeant and I don't no y. I play cod4 and I can get 200 all the time with 1 8800gts and when I use sli I get no more fps in the game. I've tryed useing different drivers/pci-e slot/upgradeing to windows 7 but no help. My system is [email protected]/asus p5nt-deluxe/xfx 8800gts/6gb ram@(800)speed running windows 7 with a 1440-900 screen.

Ps.it will be a big help if eneyone can help with this problem thanks

1440x res and CPU <3gig isn't helping but you still should see some decent gains - have you tried anything else to see if there are fps improvements?

I ran 8800GT SLI on a Q6600 @ 3-3.6gig on a 1440x900 screen and saw ~70% gains in a lot of stuff.

EDIT: In COD4 if your getting 200fps already at that res and CPU speed you are deff. gonna be CPU limited.

200 fps on a gts, im wondering how this can be done, (i dont really tweak drivers or oc graphics card) i play cod4 at 1920x1200, all settings on highest, 4x aa, i average about 70-80 fps, am i doing something wrong, as i said im not one to mess about in the driver control panel.

I've run racer grid/assasins creed fps is the same as 8800gts and I would overclock my q6600 but i get blue screen of death evey time I've done it don't. No y LOL the temps are good on the overclock 35 idle no more then 55 full load

what i dont get is why is it a problem, i suggest you use a game that your gts would struggle with then see if sli improves that game

edit, didnt see your above post before i posted, is there a way you can tell if sli is enabled in your graphics control panel

In COD4 theres an option ingame to enable SLI.

IIRC the ingame option only enables an ingame threading mode that can produce better/smoother performance when SLI is enabled already - it won't stop SLI from working if not enabled.

Sli has been enabled in game and y is a q6600 a no no xd

Q6600 isn't a no no - running it at stock 2.4gig is potentially a no no as it doesn't really give you the CPU power to fully maximise the potential of 8 series and higher SLI configurations.

its bottleneck cpu guarenteed ;) if you had bigger monitor (at least 1680x1050) u would see better fps straight away without any overclock had exact same thing and tested at all res from lowest to highest.

overclock cpu to at least 3.0 and might see a little but bigger monitor would be best to be honest.

pff 200fps, i dont see why you would wanna sli. i would love to get 200fps on my 9800GT, i can play 1280x1024 maxed out with 70fps

The thing is if I overclock my CPU I get blue sceen of death :s the temps r good overclocked idle 35c max load 55c

You need to increase the Vcore more as you have some headroom to play with looking at those temps, I had mine at [email protected] Vcore prime stabe but when I took it a little further to 3.2ghz I had to raise the Vcore all the way upto 1.45 to get it prime stable and avoid the blue screen of death.

I guess I am unlucky that the chip I was sent is not the best clocker.
