If you're thinking of the "buy one card now, add another one/two in a few months" idea, it's not worth it. By the time a single 9800GT is out of date, there'll be a new, faster single card available for the same price as what you spent on SLi.

agreed, jus a get a bigger single card. GTX260 maxcore, or GTX280 if you want a bigger number and minimal performance boost
