How long after taking up photography did it take for you guys to stop saying "I've only just started but..." or "I don't know much..." or "Not that I'm an expert or anything..." when giving critique?

I think I still break out those lines after just over 6 months of photography

I sometimes use similar lines after 10 years. I'm certainly not an expert on a vast majority of photography domains, lighting, weddings, portraits, film processing, I'm really a novice at Photoshop and LR.

I expect the great photographers of the past knew their bounds.

I've been going for 2 years now and I still say the same. That's if I do give any critique, I don't really feel comfortable giving critique as I am well aware of my own short comings!
