Reet. My current DIVX DVD player has developed issues with my HDTV so I've decided to get a new DIVX player with an HDMI connection to free up the component plugs for when I get a wii. I've had a look about and a lot of reviews seem to contradict each other on quality and play back issues.
Now I'll freely admit i'm not too clued up on this area of tech and have no idea why you can buy an HDMI cable for £6 or £50! As far as I was a aware a cable is a cable and standards are suposed to be met!
I'm looking for a player around the £100 mark if possible what would you guys and gals recommend?

I just bought myself the Toshiba SD360E today.

It does 720p/1080i, has HDMI as well as component, supports DivX and got a 5/5 rating in What Hi-Fi magazine.

Reviews I've read over the last few days have been very good.
Cost me £70 from No competitors, Big Kev.

I will admit though, I am quite like you... I know my pc parts in and out - but not amazingly clued up on Home Cinema equipment. But from what I can tell, this is decent value for money.

It will be arriving on Friday, so if I get the chance I'll give my thoughts on it this weekend.

I got the SD360E back in September to go with my Toshiba 37WLT66 LCD tv. No complaints so far, playback is nice & crisp.

One thing, If you're going to connect to your TV via HDMI, you need to connect it via scart first, tuen on HDMI, then connect via hdmi. Took me a day or so to figure that one out!
