I think I've had enough of this Xonar now, had nothing but issues with it since I got it several months ago.

Basically every time I say quit an application that is playing music, say foobar, or media player or a game the sound simply stops midway through and repeats, so you get a most irritating repeating sound.

Every now and again the channels will simply reverse for no reason at all and a hard reboot will be neccessary.

Now I have used it on Windows XP, which afaik remember was fine, the issues appeared in Vista and moved over to Windows 7, I have done many fresh installs, I have disabled the onboard sound and use the Win 7 64bit drivers from Asus, to no avail.

Is my card faulty or are Asus just as **** as Creative at making drivers? I mean I never had issues with the realtek onboard, I seem to be unlucky, sound cards have been the bain of recent times with my machine.

Does anyone else get these sorts of problems and are there any unofficial drivers out there, kinda like that gy who fixed Creatives drivers for them?

Do you have a Gigabyte motherboard? If so try updating the firmware, it was a know issue with Gigabyte motherboards.

Im having hell with my xonar d2 on windows 7. where can i find this firmware?

Edit - Urge, card is gimped in windows 7 and it appears asus dont want to know. Ive taken it out for now and back to onboard. (Sorry for hijack)

I am running win 7 xonar dx and abit Ip 35 pro and have no issues at all.
Xonar driver version 7.12.8.1775 available on the asus site.

Just sold the D2 and gonna buy a dac. You cant select stereo mix as a recording device is the most annoying.

I could select it as recording but it wouldnt work correctly, would loop the mic into the mix too. no doubt new drivers will be out eventually but ive taken a chance to move onto something new:)
