XP MCE- Choppy DVD playback on certain DVD's. Hardware issue?

I have a Shuttle SN85G4V2, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9600 Pro and an AMD 64 2800.

When playing certain DVD's in MCE, I get blocky artifacts in playback. I've tried changing the DVD drive for a completely different make and model- no luck. Tried different DVD Decoders (Theatertek, nVidia and PowerDVD) and also tried playing the DVD through WMP and the above DVD programs without MCE, all with the same result.

Now, the DVD's in question play fine on a standalone player and on my normal PC which leads me to suspect it's a hardware issue.

I've got the latest drivers for graphics, chipset etc but certain DVD's just won't play properly :(

Can anyone with an HTPC advise? Is it maybe an ATI issue? (My main PC has an nVidia graphics card).

I've tried disabling hardware acceleration in Catalyst and tried swapping default decoders using MS's own Decoder Utility.

Cheers

get another 1gb or ram ;)

sounds like MCE being bottlenecked :)

Thanks for the reply, but I've fixed it now- sorry about that, what an eedjit!!!

It was CSS copyright on certain DVD's, apparently doesn't play nice with certain decoders.
Patched it and it works grand now.

Sorry about that (blushes)
