Card died, or appears so.
Today, no display, then after reset worked, pc turned off, now nothing, just post code 25 on my Abit as8.

So I may need a new card.
Im not changing my mobo etc so its another AGP card.

Im not fussed if its ATI or Nvidia, but I do want one with at least equal performance?

So what are my options here in the UK?
havent a clue what the new models are and if they are worse than my old card or better?

Another option is a second hand 800 pe off ebay, or a new reccomendation for a new card.
Usual suppliers i.e overclockers have agp ati cards x1600? at 100 quid and some much dearer nvidia ones?

The 7600GT would be a good replacement and they are on offer this week:

Leadtek GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (AGP) - Retail (GX-088-LT)

£114.99 + VAT

Have you tried resetting the bios at all? Has worked for some with the Post Code 25.
yep tried that, problem is I get nothing at all on my monitor, see no post at all on the screen. I suspect the aftermarket 'cooler' killed it!

I would just get a 2nd hand x800/x850 from anywhere really....they will be dirt cheap....

it's only worth changing to another card if you are gonna get a significant increase in power e.g with the gainward 7800gs+ 512
