Yamaha AV receiver sound modes

Just wondering if anyone ever listens to movies with the sound profiles, church, chamber etc etc

Can't say that I have and can't even play with it as it's away for repair. Loan denon unit but I much prefer my yamaha so it better get fixed

No they add far too much processing to the sound. :eek:

I tend to stick to the movie specific modes eg scfi,standard, maybe 7 channel stereo mode or direct mode. For music I only use 7 channel stereo mode cos it sounds so good.

Mostly 7 channel stereo for everything music,films (games sometimes)

I leave my RXV677 on straight apart from 7 channel setting for music, as above!

Can movies be as good with 7 channel stereo vs 5.1 surround from the disc?
