I personally think it looks great, in a 'JDM tyte y0' way. I've ordered some rim tape to achieve the same effect on my wheels.

Hey, if it looks crap I'll just take it off, it's only 3 quid ;)

I think in a picture like that it looks pretty slick, however do it all round, and take a shot of the entire car and it just looks wrong imo

Couple of guys on club lupo did a similar sort of thing.
 
Has that wheel got the tape or is it paint? I always thought the red stripe was painted. If you can get it right and it won't peel off then go for it, JDM tite y0.

Yeah it's painted on those wheels, they come like that. It is possible to get a similar effect with rim tape though, and it shouldn't come off. It wont be right at the edge of the rim like that, more around the inside of the rim if you see what I mean.

Well I don't think it looks that bad but if I came up next to you at a traffic light grand prix I might think ooo he's on the soft compound atm I'll have him next week when he puts the hard rubbish tyres on.

(Sorry for the above crappy indy/irl/f1 tyre joke).

Tape should be with me tommorow, along with the Mugen stripe I said I was getting. I'll get some decent pics when I have put them on :cool:

Busy weekend with the car this weekend, my ASR subframe brace has finally turned up so I'll be fitting my Whiteline adjustible rear ARB too :cool:
 
Odd I was considering this exact type of thing on my car last week

Rota have just started doing the boost (SSR Type C/ Advan RGII Replicas) in 16" and Ive seen those with a red stripe available. Very tempted to get some ordered, would work really well on my car IMO. Only thing is you want the red stripe right at the edge of the wheel.

I would have said yay if you had a genuine Type-R, it would have matched well with the Type-R logo that goes on the bottom of the rear quarters :)

Not so sure but i'll hold judgement for now ;)

Well it's not actually with me quite yet, it's at my local depot, I had to pay duty on it :(

They have assured me I'll have it tomorrow though.
