With news and social media the way it is isn't that getting more unrealistic for high profile cases nowadays? I personally would like to see our system changed either with a professional jury system or maybe a whole rethink of the system.

Haven't they had something like 185 Coppers working on this and "phone hacking" for the last year, I think there time could be spent on much more worthwhile activities.

I'm not saying what they did isn't wrong but I think there needs to be some balance here.

You don't tend to get several months in prison for shop lifting unless you are a constant shoplifter a big-time shoplifter.

The Met recently dedicated a whole team to finding Madeline McCann so I wouldn't say prioritisation is the police's strong point.

Also, call me cynical but why do I get the feeling these arrests are in part to make people forget the police were just as culpable in the phone 'hacking' scandal.

The same people would just spend the next X year whinging, moaning and demanding the arrest/execution/fall from grace of whoever took over. It has ever, and will ever, be thus.

technically its not shoplifting if the store is closed and you just threw a dustbin through the window. That's called breaking and entering..................
