I know, it's just about all I ever show nowadays but I'm starting to concentrate on getting the composition right in the camera before taking the shot. These are either uncropped or very minimal crop. C&C welcome as usual.

Got a quick tryout of a guys 1dS Mk2 yester day with the 70-200 F2.8IS as well :eek:

CC's going to take a hammering shortly, not for the lens but the body.

Nice shots, the 2nd is my favorite.

Is a 1DsmkII really going to be the ideal camera for this type of work, id have thought the 1dmkIIn with its 8.5fps would be better, 16.7mp is nice but 8.5fps is nicer, imo.

My post didn't read well, sorry

It will be a 1D Mk2 not the S I go for, but not for the 8 FPS as I rarely shoot more than one shot at a time anyway. The focus speed is the thing, the 20 is good but you do miss some shots.

I actually found the 1ds to be quite noisy on the few frames I took, This was at ISO 400, just resized, doesn't show it too well but you can just pick it up.

Thanks LK, sigma 70-200 F2.8, rarely comes off the cam nowadays. In fact I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of my 100-400 and 17-40, I hardly use them

You're right about the difference, when I started I just blasted frames out and had maybe 30% keepers. Now I leave it till the frame is full in the viewfinder and take it. Keepers are up to probably 85/90% and most of those need very little work other than resize and sharpen. The first one actually had a little bit taken off the left, the others are just as they were.
