Looking to buikld a rig around one of these :

Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN)

Is it any good, and is the PSU up to the job of an AM2 system?
 
Good cases, decent PSUs...you spelt his name wrong :D

Would be easier to say for sure if you listed the parts you'll be using.

A name and a 12:00 typing error are completely different.

Careful as your on the only thing that annoys me on OcUK, txt speak, asking to correct it and then people picking my post apart even though I attempted to write a fully punctuated reply.

Oh well, I asume you did the combos in jest, and where did I post that? :confused:

EDIT: I know I overuse the ' but I do type most of my posts out in seconds or I would be on OcUK all day!

And yes, that was in jest. Anyone serious about correcting grammar and spelling would have a lifetime's work keeping up with OCUK Forums, I just grit my teeth and read on :)

As for the Sonata, I looked into getting one before the PC7 but wanted to use my own PSU, do they do PSU-less orders?

You can't get the Sonata II without a PSU sadly, its just the way Antec do their products; if you could get one then it would be in competition with the P180. Any company with two cases in competition with each other are silly.

ATCs are the only company that springs to mind, and they got canned.
 
Although the P180 is £90 and Sonata would be ~£40?

Can we expect a Sonata 3 any time soon? (Preferably all alumium, with double panels for noise isolation, and a full length alumium door.)
 
No, take off a PSU and the case would not be that cheap, more like the same price as it is already, look at the other Antec's! ;)

I will be putting an AM2 rig in it :

AM2 Mobo
x2 3800+
2 hard drives
Optical drive
7600GT the my x1900xtx when i get it back

I would stick with another lanboy, but its a very tight fit to get the xtx in there

The x1900xtx might push it a bit but it should be fine as long as you dont OC the cpu past ~2.6
