Tomorrow, I should receive all the bits for my new rig - budget, but should game well. (Phenom2 x4 965, 2x2GB, GTX460)

As it's fleeced me for the month, I'll be limited to one new game to play on it - not including the free HAWX 2 copy.

Bear in mind I have a PS3, and am actively playing Black Ops and Fallout:NV on there - for now.

What is the one game that I should buy to enjoy on the new rig, and to really make use of what it can do?

Id reccomend Battlefield bad company 2, great fun online, single player campaign isnt great, but thats basically a sideshow compared to multiplayer.

Obligatory Crysis post :p

Actually I'd say Starcraft 2. Keep you busy for hundreds of hours. Not super intensive on the ol' computational power though :)

Metro mate, grab it now for £5 on steam, You might b-able to grab something else cheap also.

Nice move on the system :p, I have the exact same spec (had it about a month) and also use ps3 for gaming loads.

Yeah Metro! If you want to feel good about your rig though, Dirt 2 is very pretty and can be had for pennies these days. Good fun too. However, BFBC2 is probably my fav game atm (274 hrs and counting since release) and your rig should let you get some good eye candy from it too.

How much is BFBC2 on pc now? I've hammered it on ps3 but not sure if it's worth stating again on pc?

Sorry for thread steal op

Crysis with wired 360 pad, if you still prefer using a gamepad(it works great for this game).

You can get it for under a tenner.

Metro 2033 is a good shout, however, don't get too disheartened when it brings your new PC to it's knees!
BF:BC2 is a great game, I would go for that personally.

Thanks for the replies all - hadn't heard of 'Metro', but it seems to be winning the votes! And at £5, I'll be happy...

As for

Noooooo! I'm a mouse and WSAD man, my girlfriend and I got the PS3 last and it took ages to get used to a controller. Even now I accidentally melee the air when trying to aim quickly in CoD.

BFBC2... had it on the Playstation and couldn't get into it, though I know from BF2 days of old that PC is the better way to play it. Will consider!

Keep suggestions coming, of course...
