Is it wrong that I'm thinking of trading my 7D for a 5D2... Is it just a psychological thing and I'm feeling all left out?!

I'll have it
I would get a 7D, but I REALLY want a 5DmkII (who wouldn't). My head tells me to get the lenses I need first, but my heart really wants the 5DmkII. If I got the 7D I know I'd only regret not waiting a bit longer for the 5dmkII, and as I make and have no plans to make money from photography (plus I suck!) it would be a looooong wait to save. If I blitzed it, I reckon I could do it in about 6 months, but I'd be painfully skint![]()
New sig![]()

Damn you
Looking around, it seems digital photography is immensely popular at the moment. A hell of a lot of stores are in back order for pretty much anything decent.
Sadly this has happened with my Sigma 50mm 1.4 that I expected last Thursday. It's had to be ordered and delivered direct from Sigma![]()

You've finally got it!
Damn, no more MKII jokes now...

Honestly though, if I've got the MKII, I'd not give a funk about MKIII!

The MkII is awesome...not without flaws though...main flaw being is the AF system on it...but hey, nevermind![]()
How do you find the AF in use? I'm thinking more down the lines of a toddler who moves in erratic bursts of energy so I tend to use AI Servo...
You got to learn a few things.
Using the outer points, you have to try get it land on something contrast-sy, or where one tone meets another, like where the shirt meet the skin on the wrist. If it land on a single colour, you are playing with fire and probably miss the shot.
The lens matter, a LOT.
The Centre point can pretty much focus on anything.
I always try for a contrast point when focussing anyway. I'm so tempted but I'll miss the reach of the crop when I do dabble in things other than portraits and landscapes. The IQ of full frame is such a pull though.
