I went down to Reading to see someone and thought I'd test-drive one of the new 59 plate Corsas while I had the chance (no forecourts up here seem to have them for some reason) 'cause someone said they were decent little cars, once you stuck some decent coilovers in there anyway. So anyway, there I am getting the feel of how it handles in some slow-moving traffic heading towards a NSL road, and some tool on a bike rides past, punches my wingmirror, and rides off.. seriously wtf? So shocked I didn't even get the plate.

Had to pay the dealer £800 for repairs and loss of market value 'cause it was a new car. What possible reason could the ****** have had, he looked at me as he went passed and deliberately ****ed the thing :confused:

Thing that shocked me even more though was the fascia on the dash falling off when he hit the wingmirror, must've been quite a thump  the build quality's meant to be pretty decent on those things isn't it?

New wing mirror would be £200 tops. 'loss of market value'? Load of tripe

Something to do with it being declared category 'D' I think.

So you were on an unaccompanied test drive, the wing mirror got smashed and they charged you £800? Have you paid this already?

Well my insurance covered it but I've lost my NCB so pretty peed off

Edit: and I was with someone but they apparently didn't see it happen and say I drove into the motorbike :(

maybe op cut him up / nearly knocked him off and he was having a bad day.. no biker is just gonna damage a car for the hell of it.

i've done the same once to a rolls royce, but only as a last result for revenge after I was physically assaulted at petrol station (he tried to strangle me lol) ...that wing mirror prolly was £800, made me feel a lot better.

Were you weaving through this slow moving traffic, considering if coilovers were really required and nearly kill the biker? ;)

Yeh prob almost knocked him of his bike and didnt even notice.

Here for more info

OP... you actually paid dealer £800 ?, I would have insisted that I supplied and fitted the £800 mirror myself lol

But it was a cat D write off ;)

This is a genuinely good business model. Yes sir, you can have a test drive. Get on the phone to a nut job mate- "Mug testing a Black Vauxhall Corsa, leaving in about 3 minutes" Bobs your uncle and £800 in the bank for the cost of a wing mirror :p

In his first post he states it like he's paid it, then he states his insurance paid the cost, so which is it?

If you want to tell us a story least get it right in your own head first.

Also, why didn't the dealer claim on its insurance, max excess from your point of view of £500 iirc and no loss of claims on your insurance.

lol miniyazz

TBH.
