1. Rodd-Y-Ler - Lifesigns [1997]

So damn ahead of it's time in terms of epic trance it's silly, brilliant track!

The track that single-handedly got me into trance. My brother made me listen to it on Winamp version 1, and I got shivers up my spine (had not touched any thing naughty at that point)

Such a crisp productions, with variations throughout the entire track. Stands tall against the newest of productions.

Some excellent choices but also some striking omissions given that you have listed 100 tunes.

No mention by anyone for Exactly - O'Callaghan & Kearney yet either, it's certainly one of the best trance tunes i've heard in a long time. Doesn't yet make my list only for the fact that it is still too new imo.

The omissions are due to my list being based on personal preference.

Stuff like For an Angel, Airwave, Out of the Blue, Gouryella, etc havent really stood the test of time with me, I am kinda bored with them.

All the tracks listed mean something to me, or I have loved from the first time I heard them, including the few when I was in my hard house phase

As for Exactly, I think it and Sean Tyas - Lift are the 2 most overrated tracks of the year, neither are bad (Exactly is better than Lift imo), but both are kinda bland I feel.

Best track of 2006 for me is Ben Gold's remix of Primer - Everlast, but it will sadly never get released

Used to love those. Can still enjoy them now although I went off trance and consider it pretty empty now. I was really into it back in '98 through 2000. I still get flashbacks with goosebumps when I think of those tunes breaking in Cream or Gatecrasher, everyones' hands in the air. Man, I really enjoyed those years. Incredible.

I paid for it later though!
