was it purely on size? the reason i ask is that i am about to rent out my spare room to a friend. my room is at the front of the house, the spare room is at the back. i never really paid it much attention because on first glance it is smaller,i measured it today it is infact smaller, probably by just under 1m2 but, it feels like a much nicer room. not sure if it is because it is the back of the house and thus feel more secluded and has a nicer view of the back garden (as opposed to the street which i see from my room) but my furniture would be a tighter fit due to the slightly different shape of my current room. do people here choose there bedroom on size alone?

generally I try to get what I can keep tidy/fit all my stuff in, don't need a massive room, as then it's too much to tidy and you have too much floorspace

For renting out pick your room at the back, away from the main door. Lets lodgers come in at what ever time they want with out passing ur room / walk about the house waking you up. (esp if there is not much size in it)

When I lived in a rented house I went for the downstairs room (as long as I considered it big enough) as I had a sub-woofer that would drive everyone wild if it was upstairs.

Its listed as 'Bedroom 1' on the Planning Details!.. plus 'Bedroom 2' isn't big enough for a King Sized bed!! :D

Size and shape. Although a room maybe bigger it's not always a usefull shape.

Noise as well. Not only from out side, but from inside. Boiler, shower/toilet.
But then I do shifts and sleep during the day.

My parents gave me the small room because I was the youngest.

Which kind of sucks, it fits a bed, a tv and a wardrobe, thats about it.
Kind of sucks, keep my bass amp outside the door, a lot of stuff hung on the walls, I can't get a drum kit, no room, can't get a piano, no room, can't get a decent sized bed, no room. Can't even have a chair in the flipping room so playing games gives me a bad back.

Bit annoying, one of the main reasons I spend most of my time outside the house.
I'd keep the bigger room personally.

Of the 3 bedrooms, 2 are the same size and identically shaped except one faces the front of the house (and the road) and the other overlooks the garden at the back.
Though the front was listed as the 'main' we chose the one at the back as it was instantly more peaceful - even the natural light is better in there!

What direction does it face? Mine is south facing, nice and warm and a view over the garden. Not the biggest in the house but meh...
