Your car history memory lane.....

1976 Jaguar XJ6 coupe in lavender blue with a black vinyl roof.

I will be keeking my 306 GTi-6 forever; its worth very little to sell on, but has had about ~£10k spent on it in the last 2 years turning it into a trackday beast :D

Supercharged 168 to 240 bhp
stripped out, rollcage, harnesses, buckets etc.
polycarb rear window and skinned hatch.
KW coilovers, roller-bearing wishbone bushes, 30mm rear anti roll bar, 25mm torsion bars, lowered ~45mm.
Replaced fuel tank with later model version to cure fuel starvation.
315x28mm AP racing 4pot brakes.

Thats just off the top of my head.

Great car, and as said will not be sold. Will just be my toy until it dies completely and falls apart.

Owned loaded of cars, had hundreds of company cars over years.

My fave company car was a facelift MB CLS 320CDI in Obsidian Black and Cashmere Beige Leather, COMAND, 18's, Parktronic, Tel Prep Inc Bluetooth. Absolutely loved that car.

My fave car of my own has got to be my old TVR Cerbera 4.5 V8, Yellow with Green leather interior and 17'' Speedlines stunning car and so rewarding to drive, sadly it was coming upto the winter and I had to sell it before I lost any money on it.

Lovely fella from down south somewhere came up with £10.5k cash and took it away, £500 profit on a car I bought as an impulse buy because I was hungover and fed up one day!

Those are the best buys i find, no research no nothing just bang buy it :)

Looking back I've had a lot of fun in a lot of cars but none of them have a special place in my head/heart. My DC5 was the most fun of the lot but I don't pine for it - you have to get some perspective and ultimately it was just a fast tin can.

As far as I'm concerned the best is yet to come - namely a newage Honda NSX. Now that's something that I'll truly love.

Funny thing was a member on this forum also wanted to buy the same car, but I got lucky and beat him to it!

His name is Volospian - don't know if he still posts here or not.

'83 Datsun Stanza (Lasted me 3 weeks - oops)
'88 Escort XR3i
'91 Orion 1.6i Ghia
'90 XR4x4 Sierra
'01 Octavia 1.8t 4x4

I've had the Octavia from new and still have it now. It's a very hard car to replace, nothing has ever gone wrong on it!

My fave is still the XR4x4 though - loved the lazy v6 and sideways handling :)

Worst by miles was the terrible terrible Orion - the only consolation was making £1k profit on it.

I've never had the desire to spend big money on a road car - it all goes on feeding the racing addiction :)

One of my old Clios - tough choice between the Clio RT with a 5 GT Turbo lump in it or the Clio 16v with the Spider Cup race engine.

The CGTT was just nuts, it didn't really draw too much attention to itself until you booted it, at which point the turbo spooling would turn heads given the short ( virtually none existent heh!) pipe run to the cone filter. Power delivery wasn't exactly smooth but when the turbo delivered it was just great fun. Wheel spinning on the rollers at Powerstation in 5th gear is a choice memory. :)

The Spider lumped 16v was a little more restrained in terms of the power delivery but it handled better. It also would backfire on demand which was fun on the motorway when you had a rep tailgating you. ;)

Ah, fond memories. :)

Well, ownership history

- 1995 Mk1 Fiat Punto 55SX

This little 1.1 was my first car, the day I bought it, the exhaust fell off but from then on, was rock solid :D seemed to be a thief's wet dream - got broken into twice - once with the driver's door bent back and once method unknown!

- 1996 Phase 1 Peugeot 306 D Turbo

Still own this car, has been used and abused and never stopped going. Always tempted to screw mod, but never bothered (plus I don't think I'd have been able to handle the power!) One of the rarer 5 door D Turbos.

- 1995 MK4 JDM Honda Prelude BB4 Si VTEC

Had been looking for a Prelude for a little while and stumbled across this by an accident really. The seller didn't really know that it was a relatively rare BB4 without all the messy 4WS etc and had the rare LSD. So snapped up, and again never really caused me any problems. Had a VTEC controller, 4-2-1 with quad exhaust and decat. Sounded lovely.

- 1995 MK4 UK Toyota Supra TT6 BPU++
Well, 1/250ish made, running around 400BHP with dyno to prove. Mods list far too long to list. Best car I have owned and driven, without a doubt and ALWAYS got attention wherever it went. Acceleration was crazy and could embarrass a lot of more expensive metal easily. Was in immaculate condition inside and out.

- 2003 BMW E46 330Ci Sport
Newest and lowest mileage car I have owned. Caused me the most problems and cost me the most money so far :p (fuel aside). But it drives well and suits my needs at the moment. Has a nice smooth power delivery and looks good...but I'll always have a longing for something a bit more...

Driven various other cars ranging from Pandas to Mercedes in between but not owned them.

Most missed and along with one of the biggest regrets in my life, has to be the Supra.

Best smiles per £ factor of any car I've owned. It's now a cube after I 'restyled' it :(.

In order of ownership, some of my favourites.

My 172 which I loved and had from almost new (ex demo). Total heart driven purchase and loved it.

My Civic 1.8 VTI which took me ages to find with low mileage in this condition. Probably my favourite of the bunch. It is the only car I have ever owned that I really wish I still had.

Despite it being a piece of rubbish I think my e36 328i...but none of my cars have been all that special really so I'm not too fussed about any of them.

The car I miss the most was my Lotus Carlton did not own it very long but what a machine.. I would post a pic but i,m still trying to get them off the Ex Wife....

That is probably the most unique car anyone here has ever owned. You must tell us more! When did you have it?

Personally I think people who buy them are a bit bonkers spending £15k+ on whats basically a very fast but 20 year old Vauxhall but its very interesting all the same :D

It was a lovely car when I sold it. I spent about 2 months fixing it up hence the crashed one i used for spares. I have a full log of photos of everything i did just trying to get them off the ex is proving nigh on immpossible. It was 2003 when i had the car and i sold it in early 2004 the running costs were crippling and was just about to have my daughter with my ex so it had to go.

I also had an immaculate GTE 16v which was 100% standard and only 20k on the clock i bought it of an old chap who had it from new. It had every stamp in the book from vauxhall and every piece of paperwork you could imagine. There was not a spot of rust on the car. Should have kept hold of that one as well........

Not the greatest pics but all i have left
