Your current Fish tank Setups!

I'm surprised they took them. They can't sell them.

They will (or mine does / did anyway), they just don't give credit for taking stock anymore, & haven't done for a long time. I don't know if their policies are subject to a manager's discretion or not, though I wouldn't have thought so.

What brackets are those holding the light power units on, i seen you have turned them the other way instead of using the screw holes, good idea:)

Wanna ask a quick water quality related question to the more experienced if I may

ive recently bought an RO unit and mineralising salts etc and made my mix to 110 TDS 6gh 0KH as recommended for the shrimp I keep

The water in my tank is gh 10 and 220TDS which is why I bought the RO unit. ive been changing 25% with the RO mix every other day [3 WC's in total so far] but my TDS doesn't seem to be coming down [altho my GH has come from 12-10]

I don't wanna cause osmosis shock to my tank [parameter drops too quickly] should I carry on with the 25% every other day and see if my TDS and GH eventually comes down or am I going about it the wrong way and I should be changing with straight RO but maybe a lesser amount till it reaches the required parameters?

Yep, change with straight RO, but only change around 15% every 3 days.

Once your TDS is right, then remineralise.

Thats what I did with my South American tank and it worked perfectly.

New fish day. Bolivian Rams, more Sterbai Corys and a BN plec.

Will post pics when they have settled in.

Edit: managed to get a pic of one of the Rams by tempting it out with a tablet. The others and the pleco are still settling in. I don't think I'll see much of the pleco until he's a bit bigger. He's probably clamped underneath the bogwood at the moment.

I'll be adding some rams relatively soon; what sort of conditions are ideal for the bolivian rams? I assume soft water / acidic pH / moderate temps?

Sounds like my conditions are suitable : GH 4 / pH 7.0 / 24C. I'll look into it a little more thoroughly nearer the time. Electric blue rams are another consideration, too.

Electric blues are very delicate. The slightest wobble in your filtration system could kill them off. Bolivians are much more hardy.

Yes, so I've read. I guess the Bolivian are also hardier than the German rams, too? I won't make a decision lightly, or until much nearer the time.
