Bloody snails, they've exploded again, can't get rid of them
my tank has not taken on a slight green tinge.
Ive never had a planted tank before, is this normal for the first few days?

Sounds very much like algae bloom. Can be common in new tanks.
It should sort itself out with regular water changes, but you could blackout the tank for a couple of days, then just have the light on a couple of hours a day for 2 days. After the fourth day, do a 50% water change and then increase the lighting schedule by an hour a day. You only really want the light on max 8 hours a day.
Why would your tank go green after adding plants?
er, plants are green
shall start water changes!
Looks nice, Al.
What size is that tank, 3ft?
you said your tank had NOT gone green, even so added plants does not turn the water green, light + ammonia does that, but then again what do I know about plants![]()
