Your favorite PC GAME GENRE?

What game genre do you mostly play on your pc? and what made you a fan of that genre?

For me it would have to be either FPS or RTS. I think this will be everyones favorite too.

First game that got me into FPS on the pc was Half Life. I played other FPS games on the PC before that (Doom,quake,unreal ect) but it was HL that turned me into a big fan of this genre.

First taste of an RTS game on the pc was C&C...Nuff said.

Its kinda sad to see the consoles are now starting to get some RTS games. I just hope they don't dumb down the genre for the casual gamers.
 
It is definetely FPS for me. All that time playing Quakeworld left an impression for me. Although I haven't really been playing FPS lately.
 
I'd say it depends on the theme of the game, and the mood you are in.
FPS- for thrill/stress busting. RPG- when you feel like a magpie.
RTS- when you want to be in control. Simulations (be it space, sea etc..)- when you want to incorporate a bit more physics.
Racing stuff, and other sports- when you're too lazy to go out and do the real thing! ... Shameful :p

Spot on with that post. Lately I'm going mad for RPGs, but my mood could change at any moment and I might end up obsessed with Battlefield 2 or Supreme Commander again.

In fact, I am almost positive this will happen when Quake Wars and Crysis come out. :D
 
Very much getting back into the FPS genre now. Started playing CSS BF2 and BF2142 again.

Though I do have the odd play in Guild Wars too.
 
FPS would be my first choice, however the RTS genre is taking my fancy more by the day thanks to recent high quality efforts such as Supreme Commander.

FPS.
No doubt about it for me & has been that way since time. I do a bit of Sim racing with my momo but around 10% compared to 90% FPS.

thats Killing Everything In Sight :D

FPS of which I include Oblivion (my favourite) as thats basically kiling everything in sight too!

I don't think I've actually bought a game that does'nt involve killing stuff!
something to be said about our society there. bring back dueling,arena's and fighting the French for no other reason than they are French :D

Simulations of the flight and driving variety, closely followed by FPS. Armed assault is a good combo of the 2 which has been getting a lot of my attention recently.
