Your favorite video game boss.

Final Fight - the boss at the end of Level One

He laughs at you and then whistles.

The reason being i used to get to him all the time in the arcade, but not much further :)

another mentioned the Serious Sam boss battles - again, just good action, where you use the same techniques you've spent the rest of the game learning, and just have to use them better.

The Serious Sam games (as much as I love them) do have some gimmicky boss fights though :/

First Encounter final boss = use jump pads to hit lasers, can't kill him with all the cannonballs in the world.
Serious Sam 2 about halfway through or so = some weird giant baby thing that you have to deafen by shooting at Gongs

Why? Less than 20% of the ones named in here are console exclusives, infact the only ones that are were from the very old consoles. Besides the community is better in PC Games IMO.

Based on some casual observation PC games forum typically roughly 4x the number of viewers than the Console forum does. It is also getting progressively more popular in relative terms - a few years back, there were actually more threads in the console forum, albeit slightly fewer posts in total and a much more even balance of users.

Thread should remain in PC games with a seperate thread in consoles for console bosses if desired.

I may be wrong but I'd assume that most of us discussing SNES/N64 era games are probably PC gamers these days and might not post in console gaming ever.

That's just based on me :p but I think it's true of a reasonable number of people.

Only one mention to Psycho Mantis?

The dude would screw you up royally until you put the controller in the second port and would constant fill your screen with the games you have on your memory card. :p

I mentioned him before. Plus you had to put your controller in to pad 2 to make way

I have to say for me the most memorable was the final boss on Twinworld (had it on the Acorn Archimedes!), me and my sisters spent so many hours getting there and it was so cool to finally defeat him, can't remember much about it now though lol.
I've always been a fan of the bosses in Zelda too, did like ganon in OOT.

Sephiroth from FF7 (technically a console game, but I had it on PC as a kid).

He made me cry when he killed Aeris (I think I was 10-11 at the time). The sad thing was, I kept dying on the boss directly after that cutscene, so I had to keep replaying it.

Oh yes and the music One Winged Angel brilliant
