Your favorite video game boss.

I have a soft spot for the Half Life crab/spider thing sub boss before you got to the disapointing end boss. It was the size of the thing and sound it made when it began a charge at you. Also was pretty unusual compared to everything that had gone on before.

That and the fact that it has a "buster gonad" style giant scrotum dangling around under its shell :D

Kain - soul reaver

Mgs4 snake-liquid cqc fight at the end, with all the flash backs and backround songs. Pure epic

+1 Pulled some heart strings did this fight!

Dr. Cortex - Crash Bandicoot

Nelo Angelo - devil May Cry 1 <- On hardest difficulty had some beyond epic fights trying to kill this kid. Also find out it was Dantes Bro was epic

Shub-Niggurath!

I was just thinking of that, what could be a better boss than timing a flying ball so it goes through the boss at the same time as you go through a teleporter

The penultimate enemy on the ship at the end of Crysis (or was it the expansion?)

Took me ages to blow it up, then an even bigger one came out, but that one went down much easier.

God Of War is pretty immense, just boss battle after boss battle really.

Sephiroth from FF7 (technically a console game, but I had it on PC as a kid).

He made me cry when he killed Aeris (I think I was 10-11 at the time). The sad thing was, I kept dying on the boss directly after that cutscene, so I had to keep replaying it.

totally with you mate! Had it on PC too. Sobbed like a baby and filled me with burning hatred :D

Robotnik in all incarnations. (esp. end of sonic 2)
Sepiroth
Ganon (Zelda OOT)

Xaero on Quake 3, the very last tier

taught me the value of learning to use a rial gun properly

Anarki T4 on quake 3 , taugh tme the importance of learning the shortest routes from Red Amrour to Megahealth

not sure if they really qualify as bosses though ???

I remember a Pacman 3D game (Pacman World maybe?) on original playstation, that had a boss that was so hard to beat. You had to do three things at once on the gamepad, thereby basically requiring three sets of eyes... I couldn't do it alone as a kid, my dad couldn't do it alone either... so we duct-taped a controller to a table and did a part each. My dad, my cousin and I :P. It took us about 2 hours... man was it intense. Best boss ever.

EQ - Lady Vox. My 1st raid experiance ever..70+ people running around trying to down this dragon. Absolutley awesome fun, and I've never looked back in the MMO genre

WoW - Deadmines/Edwin Van Cleef. My introduction to scripted events and instances in a MMO universe, mindblowing. It's hard to explain how revolutionary and polished WoW was at the time.

WoW - Nefarian, BWL. 'Nuff said.

R-Type. (Atari ST) 4th level 'boss' encounter. I just remember struggling on this for weeks
