I'm sure a lot of people on here appreciate how significant the soundtrack to a film is. And as such, I was wondering what your favourite film scores are. :)

My favourite film composer at the moment is probably John Powell. I've recently got my hands on the soundtracks to both The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Both are absolutely superb. I've never really listened to a soundtrack out of context before. But in doing so, you can really appreciate just how good the music really is.

So what are your favourite soundtracks?

I would say Jurassic Park has to be right up there, along with Lion King, Alladin, Lord of the Rings and Indianna Jones. Oh, and Star Wars... ;)

Last of the Mohicans and Bladerunner's soundtracks comes to mind straight away but there are many I really like :)

Donnie Darko & Collateral, but then im looking more towards everything on the OST's there rather than the core, defining piece of music that comprises the single showpiece.

In terms of the showpiece, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones & Jurassic Park. All memorable pieces of music.

Edit: The Thing, the music really does a great job of creating tension within the film.

Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore)
Star Wars (John Williams along with basically anything else he touches, Jurrasic Park, Indiana Jones etc.)
Gladiator (Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard)
A range of films by Ennio Moricone

Sorry, I should clarify. That in my post, I was talking about the score to the Bourne films, rather than the actual soundtrack. Which would be Extreme Ways I assume.

The Island - My Name is Lincoln
Signs - the music made the film for me, really sets atmosphere. Don't think the music of any other film has affected me so much
