Got back into pc gaming in 2004. As you can see I am an Nvidia fanboy! Thought I would get that in before anyone says anything! :p

Original FarCry was what got me back into pc gaming. Would run med to high graphics with the 5200 FX card and FarCry looked stunning and it really opened my eyes to what I was missing out on when I had gone back to console gaming.

Here is the list of my old GPU's.

Nvidia 5200 FX
Nvidia 6600 GT
Nvidia 6800 Ultra
Nvidia 8800 GS
Nvidia 8800 GT
Nvidia 280 GTX
Nvidia 680 GTX
Nvidia 1060 GTX 6gb
Nvidia 2080 RTX
Nvidia 3090 RTX

Pretty sure I have not missed any out. Back in the day money was tighter and I never really had high end cards but always went with one which would offer good value and performance. First nearly top tier car was my 2080 RTX so having the 3090 RTX will be my first top tier card and I am looking forward to it arriving with me on Monday.

The historic bit is a bit hard, but let me be the first to put down my next GPU before someone else thinks of it!
ExMgNFx.jpg

Historic (ignoring 2D video cards):
Intel 740
A pair of Voodoo 2's (used)
Radeon 9200 SE (I think)
Radeon 5770 (used)
GeForce 8800 GT (went solder bump kaputt just after BFG went bust - probably no coincidence)
Radeon 260X (1GB impulse buy on offer from retailer named after dish)
Radeon 7950
Radeon 290 (used)
Radeon 470 (4GB)
I'm sure I've missed a fair few there.

GeForce 7600 GT 256
GeForce 7900 GS 256

GeForce 8800 GTS 512
GeForce GTX 260
Radeon HD 5870
Radeon HD 6850 (flashed to 6870)
Radeon HD 7970
Nvidia GTX 670

Next card... probably an RTX 4080/4090 depending on pricing, or the RDNA3 equivalent if they're better.

I sooo loved this card... so much I had two of them for Quadfire... was my fave because it was bonkers when AMD did some mad things... if only SLI/Xfire had worked properly... as when it worked it was awesome!

As for next card, i'm on 6900XT so at the top of the tree really not sure going forward.
I think I had two of them as well Pug. :)

Aint that the truth...
I only dipped my toe into multi-gpu with HD5850 Crossfire. And when it worked it was nearly double the performance. But dam.... getting it TO WORK in games was such a chore...
The constant fiddling with profiles, not being able to use windowed mode... checking that both GPUs are getting load... all such a pain in the neck!
