Nice 'n simple.

Do you keep your box on the floor or up on your desk? Personally, I hate putting them on floors, especially if they are carpeted, as the amount of dust they gather seems to increase a lot.

Out of my 3 PC's, 2 are on desks and 1 (HTPC) on a shelf.

Mine is on the desk right next to me where i can see through the window side panel. It helps if any fans stop that i can actually see it straight away.
It also helps when showing off all the expensive equipment in my room :D

Moved to desk for same reason. Seems to also run cooler

On the carpet. It means it acts as a hoover and PC at the same time. I don't even have filters...
Doesn't get too much dust in though. A quick cleanout every 3 months or so is needed, but I'd do that anyway.

All of mine are on the floor. I don't get too much dust and clean them out often anyway. I just like them tucked away and out of site - even tho I have windowed cases with LED fans :p There's something "cooler" about just having the monitor on the desk.....less showy :)

Floor, but not by choice I assure you, and it's bloody annoying since my corner desk is huge and the cables are all rather tight around it. I am so going to buy a new, basic desk and a smaller PC case.

Used to be on the floor in my previous house - sucking up lots of dust.

Now in a new house, nice new room and desk - its got a cupboard in the desk - but does feel that i've put a metal case in a wooden box and maybe not great for airflow with the door shut.

On the floor - would take up far too much space on the desk. Then there's the risk of it being knocked, plus the noise factor.

My glass desk has a raised metal base stand for the tower, which is quite useful. Means it's getting airflow all around it too.

Been on the floor for years, since the first full tower cases were release. Never had any problem with dirt, maybe once a year I clean it out with a compressed air duster.

Computer on floor leaves more room for monitor, amp and speakers on the desk :) + I already have too much expensive electronics on display for people to see through the window. Prefer to make the house as least tempting as possible to burglars :)

My house has no carpet on the stairs or in the hallway but it doesn't stop them. :(

Mine is on a desk (one of those computer disks) but only about an inch off the floor :p

My full tower is on the carpet.

Obviously it would take up far too much space on the desk, and would look silly.
