I play in a 3 piece blues / rock band where we play such tracks as Red House, Texas Flood, Fire & water etc and I sometimes wonder who my perfect band would be.

I can't decide on a lead singer, possibly Sting.

Bass would be Mark King, ex Level 42.

Drums, Stewart Coplend of The Police ( although my favourite of them all and the best ever is Buddy Rich.

Who would your perfect band be ? Try and limit it to 5.

Also, post what insrument you play and if you're in a band, what you play etc.

I play keyboards, euphonium and drums. Used to play keyboards in a rock/blues band.

Singer - Chris Cornell (Sound Garden / Audioslave).
Guitarist - Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth).
Bassist - Cliff Burton (Metallica - RIP).
Keyboard - Mark Kelly (Marillion).
Drummer - Danny Carey (Tool).

Bass Guitar - Me (And why not? It's my fantasy band after all! But if forced to choose someone else, Jack Bruce)
Drums - John Bonham

Chris Cornell (Sound Garden) and Davey Havok (AFI) Vocals (they'd work it out).
Travis Barker, Drums.
Joe Satriani, Lead Guitar
Matt Bellamy, Rythm Guitar

Not sure about the rest really.

Why would you have Kirk doing rhythm when James is one of the best rhythm players out there?

I couldn't understand taking Kirk over James either.

I'm gonna have to go for -

Vocals - a 90s Chris Cornell
Guitar and more vocals - Billy Corgan
Guitar - Mike McCready
Bass - The fella from Opeth with the amusing sideways headbanging
Drums - Jimmy Chamberlin

I suppose Cornell could pick up a guitar too, nice to see 3 guitarists on one stage.

I always find these threads a bit daft because adding some of these musicians together would probably end up in a piece of poo - Chickenfoot anyone?
A bit like the post above I've taken my 4 favourite musicians of all time who I know could work with each other and tagged a keyboard player on.

Keyboards - Keith Emerson
Guitar - Jimmy Page
Bass - John Paul Jones
Drums - John Bonham
Vocals - Robert Plant
