My mailbox keeps getting spammed with this. When I try to change my password it asks for the code that keeps getting sent to my email, but surely if I type one of the codes in it will just give whoever is spamming these codes to my email address access to my steam account?

change the password and the other person wont have any idea what the password is and you wont get spammed?

it apears the codes are the same everytime aswell ad not randomly genrated?

Yeah always wondered about this, doesn't seem that secure.

As above changing your password should make it stop, but I would be mostly concerned with how someone else got my password. If you use it elsewhere change it as well.

Wonder if steam can give you the ip address of the computer trying to log in.

When I try to log in to change my password...

Hello!
We see you're logging in to Steam from a new browser or a new computer. Or maybe it's just been a while...
As an added account security measure, you’ll need to grant access to this browser by entering the special code we’ve just sent to your email address at live.co.uk.

But If I do that how am I supposed to know which one is from me and not from the other guy trying to access my steam?

And all the codes that I've been spammed with have been different.

Look at the timestamp of the email, should be easy enough to see which one is yours unless you're getting spammed 1 a minute.

I had that, then it stopped.

I tried logging in but I had steam when i had a PC, which I no longer do I can't even log in to change it.

That would be bad, thought only forum passwords were compromised : /

Although he may use the same password on the forums and client.

If the hacker has your steam details and the mail is being sent then they don't have your mail details!!

Are the emails unread? If so then you can use any of the codes as the hacker doesn't know them!!! If they did then you would have only got 1 email.

Just be grateful you have steam guard enabled and that whoever it is trying to get access to your account, can't.

You can change your password from within the client, although you will need a verification e-mail for that as well. It also won't stop the spam, that will only stop when the person gives up.

Oh, and obviously make sure you have a different password on your e-mail account.

What I find odd about Steam Guard is that I installed a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and SDD into my system and yet Steam logged me in and didn't give me a single problem about it being a new computer.
