your summer tyres and the winter

the golf was defeated!

snow level above the door sills and on top of compacted ice. the belly of the car is blatently resting on the snow

stuck on my own driveway. blocking in my other car too. LEGEND

Some flour on the road doesn't count as snow:p

It does when you're coming down a 1:4 hill single track lane. Was very hard to get my speed down and bring it back under control before the corner at the bottom. Managed it though.

For half that trip I had a Range Rover behind me with full beams on, though at some point after a particularly sharp corner he disappeared. I don't think there's any turn offs around there but couldn't exactly go back and investigate.

Been considering getting some all season tyres for my leon, they came fitted with some Bridgestone potenza re050a's and their performance in the snow doesn't give me much confidence.

If you're serious about changing tyres, get a set of winter tyres.
Do it properly, rather than sacrifice the other 8 or so months of the year.

16"s on steelies are the cheapest option, or you can splash out for 17"s/18"s...
