Come on man!? The Proposal as your third favorite film of all time

Not going to tell you you're wrong because it's your opinion but it's not a film I'd go around recommending everyone to see!

Gah! How didn't I put Pan's Labyrinth in my top 10. I also love Kill Bill Volume 1! Watched Leon the other day and wasn't as good as I thought on first viewing!

Had a quick scan through my dvd collection and picked out a few favourites. I'd say that each one of these movies had a profound affect on me. The ones in bold are the must sees:

Akira - one of the finest animated films ever made
Apocalypse Now: Redux - the best war film ever made
Audition - a superb psychological horror
The Big Lebowski - The Dude abides
Blade Runner - best sci-fi film ever made
Blazing Saddles - the funniest film I've ever seen
Blood and Black Lace - beautifully shot, a must for all giallo fans
Die Hard - one of, if not the best action movie ever made
Hamlet - faithful retelling of a classic
Heat - great heist movie, DeNiro and Pacino on top form
Lost Highway - one of Lynch's more accessible films
The Lost Weekend - an intriguing look into the life of an alcoholic
Perfect Blue - a brilliant psychological thriller, proof that animation can be for adults
The Royal Tenenbaums - I could've put any Wes Anderson movie in this list, chose the first one I saw
Taxi Driver - DeNiro at his absolute best
Tetsuo, the Iron Man - almost no dialogue and a fantastic soundtrack from Chu Ishikawa, a must for anyone into body horror
Videodrome - the film that got me interested in films

In no order:

Memento,
The Big Lebowski,
Oldboy,
Die Hard,
Blade Runner,
Heat,
Fargo,
Pulp Fiction,
Commando,
Fight Club.

Not much of an action fan, me...

Actually, I want to make big budget brainless Hollywood action films so I guess it's not a surprise.
