Youtube block users unless they link with google account

I use Gmail, Android, loads of other Google services... Using my Gmail account on Youtube is brilliant. About time really.

I wish more people would use their Gmail accounts properly and stop moaning about Google being evil and stealing their souls. I bet there is more information publicly available on these peoples Facebook accounts than Google have about them secured away...

Didn't really like having to link a gmail account with Android so just signed up for another.

 You bought a phone with a Google OS designed to intergrate with your Gmail account and then... chose not to intergrate it with your Gmail account?

What exactly did this gain you?

Not running two entirely seperate log in systems for what is essentially one large integrated account / service

Though it's not really integrated into google, not yet anyhow. There is a reason why they did it slowly.

Edit: @ Skeeter, my facebook is locked right down with no personal info entered at all (other than my name).

Yes, because people like you start whinging about insignificant problems and resist change, if they did it all at once they might give someone a heart attack :p

As for its integration, it's getting there, all it really lacks is a Google based name and skin, it's already housed in the little top nav drop down menu with stuff like Google Calender and Google Documents for example and they've been using a shared login for ages now for those of us less paranoid folkk.

Not sure what else you'd really be expecting to see for it to be more integrated.

Think you're on your own Lakeland. Don't see the issue here.

Fair enough, I can live with being the odd-one-out online as well as in real life :p

Heh, I don't usually whine and moan honest!

I wouldn't say paranoid, just conscious about stored online data.

I know it's probably not far off, but there is nothing I can see in terms of integration on google's site, I'd bet there is some confusion for those non-savvy folk out there that didn't know google had bought out youtube.

lol , google knows everything you search for , who you email , what videos you watch , what sites you go on , takes photos of your house. etc etc etc

and your worried about linking two of their accounts ? which will actually make logging in easier

I dont see what your beef is really. I work for customer services and this is like the idiots that will give their name, address and debit/credit card details, but try to refuse to give out their date of birth.

Name, address and credit card details are often necessary for payment authorisation so people are used to disclosing those. DOB isn't and (depending on the circumstance) I'd be wary about giving out mine without a good reason.
