YouTube Has Lost Me A Fortune

that cant be right because i know someone who did a video of them driving an RC video into a pool to test if it really was waterproof and he only had something like 20k hits yet said he had "easily" made what the car cost and that was 200$

theres people who monetise themselfs playing video games aswell you allowed aslong as its educational and has a voice over (guides , playthroughs etc) and they only get 30-35k hits on the videos , i cant see them doing a few hours of a game for a measrely 5quid

Hes not making $200 from 20K hits... I had a video hit 50K views and according to the email from youtube I'd have made between ~£6 and ~£30 depending on various factors.

After clicking on his username and clicking visit his homepage, it looks like youtube have shut the OP's channel down altogether!

Dammit i still haven't updated my info on here .... u had me scared for 1 second there

edit: Sorted!

Well albert the lesson of the story is, if you've footage which you think is newsworthy try to licence it to one of the newspapers. Except thats difficult unless you have original footage or the best footage of that incident!

Can I see that laser rainbow thing that was in Whitley Bay on that video?

Has it moved all around the country or something?

Presumably you are referring to the ones who have Partner status, because everyone and his dog seems to be making those videos now, especially Minecraft videos.

people like theradbradd or whatever hes called my son watchs his videos while hes playing the same games, even if hes not on the same part lol....

my missus watchs some of the makeup product reviewer ones they blatantly make a fortune mostly from all the free stuff they get from companies, they all seem like they speak BS in order to get freestuff imo though

Are people that upload music videos/songs with lyrics in the video that then get millions of views also able to monetize even though the main attraction of the video isn't theirs?

if you dont own the rights or get permission from owners you cant monitize your videos ;) or youll get the video removed . mine arnt monitized yet but some has very big views and i have the permission of my main videos i do (to monitize them ) . whether its worth going that route or getting sponsered is probably the hardest thing to answer.

i get about 30,000 views a week now
