** YOUTUBE & TWITCH STREAMERS - RAZER SEIREN IS COMING **

Spot on with some of the comments above. Just a rebranded Yeti Blue at much much more expensive price. Seems crazy that anyone would bother with this Razer Mic?

why?

look at it from another point of view, you have a 4770k according to your sig right?

there are many that would argue that the i5 would be a better option. yet you got the i7.

same with peripherals.

Typical Razer. Over priced but looks good
Razer's quality isn't as good as it used to be

Its got worse? So it only lasts 2 weeks rather than a month?

Its been said plenty of times, far better available at almost half the price, no doubt it will still sell because of image (I can't even type that with a straight face)

Razer are okay at gaming prephirals but when it comes to the microphone scene stay away seriously or if you are gonna enter the market do something equal to the competition or better for a lot cheaper or just cheaper

Blue smash the streamer industry and for good reason youve got some huge players in terms of audio this is a bad move from razer!

Aesthetically it looks great performance wise they're is better more cheaper options

they are a premium brand with an excellent end user experience. in terms of PC hardware, they draw a lot of similarities with apple.

I honestly don't rate Razer as premium, I've had many a mouse from them and all have failed in a short period of time, like 6 to 12 months (mouse 1 or 2 gone or scroll wheel breaking or another issue). They are just very well marketed, a bit like Apple in a sense that way, but at least with Apple they truly are, or have been, a premium brand.

The mic just seems like any other mic of similar design, but with a Razer logo slapped on and increase cost to suit. Fair enough them bringing something to market, but what's different about it? What warrants them asking for more, compared to the betters brands? As already mentioned there's far better that's cheaper out there.

I'll be sure to post back the sales figues compared to the blue units when it has been in stock for a bit.

As much as I hate to argue with you here, when compared the the customer experience of other products we sell, Razer are undoubtedly the best in terms of both the product experience to the end user, support offered to us as a retailer which in turn translates to service abilities we are able to offer end users and also pricing.

In terms of PC gaming peripherals, their flagship products (which given the price of the Seiren mic, is included in this statement) are unbeatable by any competitor.

Your perception of premiumness is based entirely on product failure. I notice you didn't mention any other brands when drawing a.comparison either.

Who's arguing? We're grown ups here, right?

I didn't mention other brands because, well, I've not had any fail on me. In fact, I still use both a Logitech MX300/G1 that I've had for going on 10 years now and they're both still in tip top shape after heavy usage that they've had in Quake3/Quakelive.

I have a studio mic and separate wireless headphones, just for TS etc. Much better than dealing with headsets or cables, this is a very smart product which will sell well.

Please do but i won't care either way about sales figures when its at the price its at, people will just jump on the Razer band wagon, when anybody who has a history of music and music tech will realize its very overpriced for what it is to anyone else, it'll be fine, i've heard one audio recording so far and it didn't sound great compared to the Blue Yeti.

I've used 100's of microphones over the years, and you can get some Excellent condenser microphones for a fraction of the cost of this one, i use a Razer mouse, and i have owned a Headset by them, never again, the sound quality was very poor.

Can we post youtube links? Skip to 4:21

Sounds pretty crackly in that video...
Well not crackly, like that sound that gets into your ears (not sure how to explain it, I'm no sound guru :( )

Perhaps not arguing. More disagreement maybe. I have a gen 1 deathadder, A lycosa and an original boomslang. All working. no problems to report. Its not a miracle when things work for an exrended period of time really. But your posts seem to hint that products that remain functional for many years are more premium or something.

Mentioning Logitech in the same vein as premium peripherals is pretty odd considering their main selling point is that they sort stuff out efficiently when it goes wrong.

Its Distorting you mean.. its either A from poor hardware/or B her gain control is too high

It cost me very little for each of my mice over 10 years ago, I didn't really buy thinking premium or what not, I bought them for there practical use/comfort etc. You're right regarding things working for extended periods of time as being a bonus, but you can say that about any product (even Razer).

Side note: The Logitech MX300/WMO 1.1a/Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 are highly regarded in the Quake/CS community as some of the best mice ever made and they aren't marketed as premium or the likes. There is a guy over on ESreality that has just spent the last 5 years designing himself and bringing to market, a mouse, designed by that community itself, it's called the Ninox Aurora (based around the MX300 shell but with the latest tech, zero accel etc).

I don't buy on how well a peripheral is marketed, or how efficiently i'm dealt with (although Logitech has been great over the years for me). I buy for the raw usage/comfort and feed back from the online community. Call me old school I guess!

To get back on topic, fair enough this being another option for potential customers, but like already mentioned, there's better for cheaper.

Well I have no vested interest in Razer sales at OcUK, of course I used to when I worked there, I was the buyer and PM for most of the Razer products back then.

Some of you talk about how Razer products fail, this is an interesting debate and one that I'm well capable of discussing.
Razer sales were top of the tree at OCUK for mice for a number of years (whether they still are I don't know, as I no longer work at OcUK) of course when a brand is the top seller then of course you wil find more examples of faulty units, however the % of the fault was no higher than other of the other top gaming brands.
For example.
1 in 100 on Logitech
or 100 in 100000 on Razer.

Of course you most likely wont hear about the Logitech but you maye see people talk about the Razer faults more, because there are more examples, however in % terms its the SAME!

Secondly I was a buyer at OCUK for mice and keyboard for 6 years and I have been using my Razer Deathadder for about 4-5 years now and it has been fine. I have recently upgraded to a mouse that is wireless and supports 3-4 weeks on 1 single battery (AA) only reason I didnt go for the Razer Mamba is the battery life isnt nearly as good, but you can charge it on the fly.

Anyway all poo-pooing of Razer as a brand is just unfounded hear-say I think.

In terms of pricing yeah Razer may have a higher MSRP than other brands, but of course everybody in the gaming world knows who razer are, not many will know who Yeti are.... Marketing a brand costs a lot of money, and that cost has to be re-couped.

Anyone see the panaroma show earlier this week. It confirmed a iphone 6 is sold for $650 yet only costs $240 to make! At the end of the day, what about the hidden costs etc? Marketing, customer stores, experience etc, this all has a cost to it.
I'm far from an apple fan, but I see how/why companies charge a premium for their product when its a heavily marketed brand.

Why hate so much guys?

Why hate so much guys?
It's not hating, they're simply helping others to save money and still get something better for 1/3 or 1/4 of the price of this razer poo... :p

I had razer staff before and most of them broke on me, same goes to steelseries... my mouse only lasted 7 months, yet Steelseries refused it on RMA.

+1

So far I've owned the following Razer products -

Blackwidow 2012
Blackwidow 2013
Orbweaver Elite
Anansi
Mamba 2012
Ouroboros
Sabertooth Gamepad
Tiamat 7.1
Razer Kraken Forged Edition
Razer Goliathus Extended Mat

And the only 1 to fail so far has been the Blackwidow 2012 when 1 light started to flicker, Sent it back and got it replaced, Not forgetting to mention Razers stuff feels nice and solid.

Now on to other peripherals I've owned -

K70 - 2 LED's died after 1 week and 7 keys became unresponsive.

K95 - All LED's after 2 months started to flicker and die with some keys failing to respond at all, Got it replaced and even the replacement was glitchy.

M95 - Right mouse button became unresponsive after 5 weeks of light use

Ducky Shine - Arrived with 3 dead LED's.

I've also had quite a few logitech products which failed on me with the most recent being the MX800 mouse/keyboard combo.

People bad mouth Razer because it's the "in" thing to do, A few things fail and suddenly the company makes bad products, The same happens to Logitech or another brand, Teething problems.....
