Well I have no vested interest in Razer sales at OcUK, of course I used to when I worked there, I was the buyer and PM for most of the Razer products back then.
Some of you talk about how Razer products fail, this is an interesting debate and one that I'm well capable of discussing.
Razer sales were top of the tree at OCUK for mice for a number of years (whether they still are I don't know, as I no longer work at OcUK) of course when a brand is the top seller then of course you wil find more examples of faulty units, however the % of the fault was no higher than other of the other top gaming brands.
For example.
1 in 100 on Logitech
or 100 in 100000 on Razer.
Of course you most likely wont hear about the Logitech but you maye see people talk about the Razer faults more, because there are more examples, however in % terms its the SAME!
Secondly I was a buyer at OCUK for mice and keyboard for 6 years and I have been using my Razer Deathadder for about 4-5 years now and it has been fine. I have recently upgraded to a mouse that is wireless and supports 3-4 weeks on 1 single battery (AA) only reason I didnt go for the Razer Mamba is the battery life isnt nearly as good, but you can charge it on the fly.
Anyway all poo-pooing of Razer as a brand is just unfounded hear-say I think.
In terms of pricing yeah Razer may have a higher MSRP than other brands, but of course everybody in the gaming world knows who razer are, not many will know who Yeti are.... Marketing a brand costs a lot of money, and that cost has to be re-couped.
Anyone see the panaroma show earlier this week. It confirmed a iphone 6 is sold for $650 yet only costs $240 to make! At the end of the day, what about the hidden costs etc? Marketing, customer stores, experience etc, this all has a cost to it.
I'm far from an apple fan, but I see how/why companies charge a premium for their product when its a heavily marketed brand.
Why hate so much guys?
