Hi all!

After shooting birdies and such like over the winter, I really needed to get out and shoot some cars again!

So today I popped over to Silverstone for a BARC meeting. Some excellent races – I particularly enjoyed the BMWs and the Citroen 2CVs!

apart from the last 2...

WOW...

love your shots in every respect, i.e. dof, impact, motion, contrast etc...

if i wanted to be extremely critical I could say the composition if improved would really take your shots to another level - but then im a newb what do I know

Looks a bit wet there. Did the guy in the yellow BMW (11) save a barrier hit?

Captured the movement well with blurred wheels.
Did you try any other angles other than from the side - 3/4 view of cars etc ?

The yellow beemer came very close to the barrier yes!

Silverstone is so poor for photography that there is only one corner you can shoot from, and even then you need to avoid shooting into the sun in the afternoons. If I had the chance there would have been a lot more variety, but given the situation, the above was the best available! :)

Cheers! A good option for you might be the Sigma 70-300 APO - at around £150?

If you have a bigger budget you could get a lens like mine, the UK price is around £1600. :)
