Hi there,

Just about to purchase the following, how does it look ? Is this RAM ok with the motherboard.

Hoping to take advantage of the ASUS cashback. I chose the motherboard because of built in WI FI and Bluetooth.

Cheers

Cheers £6.49 saving goes toward the postage !!
Np

There was more to my post but didn't appear.

The z170 boards were running 3200 Mhz so the z270 should cope with the Corsair 3200MHz (technically OC).

I would flash to the latest BIOS immediately (via the BIOS and USB Pen Fat 32 formatted) with only one stick installed and then try setting the XMP after the flash with both sticks. (But they could plug in first attempt at 3200).

Hi there,

Yes gaming.

Current spec 2500k o/c to 4.4
AS rock z68 pro 3
8gb 1600 RAM
Gigabyte gtx 1080 gaming
4k Monitor / TV
Antec High current gamer 850
ssd's and hard drives

One of the reasons for the upgrade is some games stutter during play , I get a message up about running out of RAM during Ghost recon wildlands.

Also I would like an upgraded motherboard and some of the features this has.

I thought about the Ryzen 1600, but with the cashback offer the prices are similar and with the Z270 being more established , there (hopefully) will be less issues in the short term, such as memory speed.

Cheers

I'm not trying to change your mind as the i7 - 7700k is a great CPU:

But for money comparison - you could get a Ryzen 1700 coupled with a top quality B350 MoBo (assuming it still had the features you needed) plus 16Gb of 3200 memory for £100 less.

Not trying to convert you - just pointing out you could get an 8 core, 16 threaded CPU and save an additional £100 on the overall build.

But either flavour CPU will be blisteringly fast coupled with your GTX 1080 for gaming.

Do you stream?
