Just went for a test drive today in a Z4 2.0. It's pre-registered, delivery miles only. Asking price is £18,850 with a little room to maneuver (maybe £500 tops).

Spec is fairly basic, seat heating, leather, decent alloys, but I don't think I want anything else (I shall completely swap out the audio system professionally). I'm sorely tempted to part-ex my Focus ST and do the swap, but I'm not sure how good a deal it is. A brand new Z4 for that money has to be good, but the question is, how much will it be worth in a year considering the new model will be out. £15k at least I'd hope.

So any opinions?

Down from £18.8k to £15k in a year? Yeah, right. Save your money and get a decent second hand Z4 3.0.

If you can find one i'd appreciate it.. but haven't found any decent ones for sub £20k. Looking for nearly new, stratus grey or space grey, and then either black or red leather interior.. haven't found any recently! :(

Save yourself 9 thousand pound and get a 2003/2004 3.0 with all the options.
Treat yourself to a private plate out of your savings if having a newer numberplate means that much to you.

Don't do it - the 2.0 is totally the wrong engine for the car. Your own stereo setup will look terrible in the dashboard too so try and find one with an upgraded system from the factory.

Don't bother with it if it's not a 3.0, even a 2.5 if you must, but not the 2.0.

Saying that, if your main priority is to just have a Z4 and it be nearly new and the better engines are out of budget then looks like it's your only choice.
