My girlfriend is thinking of changing her tyres to non-runflats, as she has a slow puncture in one and the ride is supposed to be better without runflats. Has anyone got any advice on which tyres to go for? Her Z4 has the style 108s on (18 inch).

Please could you also recommend the best tyre weld / pump kit available, as obviously the Z4 has no spare tyre.

Thanks.

She wants them because she has a puncture and wants poorer performance?

Poorer performance?

I ditched the runflats for Falken 452's. Someone will be along to tell you how they haven't been properly tested and that they aren't Goodyear F1's. Majority of the z4 forum uses these tyres and nobodys got a bad word to say against them.

Pretty cheap too.

Put 4 Eagle F1 Assymetrics on the Z4 which is also on 108s. The set was 520 quid and made a huge difference, it rides and handles better. I got a BMW M Mobility kit from the local dealer for 130 quid and it sits nicely in the boot.

Running four FK452s which I got for 345 quid delivered & then paid a mate 20 notes to fit. They're brilliant in all conditions (yep, I'm putting in the miles during this snow and bad weather) and they were very cheap, considering we're talking about 18 inch tyres here.

Of course I haven't used them, but I just can't see how F1s can possibly be £180 better.

I had F1s on the front of my ST, changed to FK452s, cant tell the difference and saved me a lot of notes, and according to the owners club they last a good few extra miles compared to the F1s

I had some random ACCS tyres on my old Xantia, never crashed, couldnt tell the difference, waste of money good tyres imho. Far better to buy an expensive sports car and then save as much money as possible when running it. I hear Tesco are doing a good deal on Value Oil at the moment as well, I put some in mine cant tell the difference :D

How is a Goodyear/Falken discussion comparable to premium vs own brand oil? It's a complete non-starter. The Falken brand is a very respectable one and certainly nowhere close to the ling long league.

Are the Bridgestone RE050As any good? She said she wants either Bridgestones or Goodyears so I guess it's between the F1s and these.

I wouldnt, its full of user reviews with no credentials. You've no idea on what basis people are making judgements.

I could tell you my tyres are proper wicked - and I think they are - but honestly I have no idea how they personally compare to say Bridgestones as I, like 99% of people on that review site, have never tried them back to back.

It does give mag tests on the r/h side also.
