Z5500 Optical Cable with X-Fi Titanium

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I'm currently running a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Professional Series 7.1 Sound Card in Vista with the Z5500 speakers from Logitech. I'm using a optical cable to get sound from the computer to the speakers, but I'm having trouble getting 5.1 sound through the optical cable.

Is there anyone who uses this set up too??

Are you using Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect (see encoder in the Creative Audio Control Panel).

Try both and pick your favourite. With it off you can only get stereo over optical. If you're using Vista or Windows 7 make sure you set up any DirectSound3D games with Alchemy too (or hardware sound processing won't work).
