Didn't know what section to put this under but here goes
I have a home network based around a microserver hub running whs 2011
Various devices connect to this via a switch (via router if wireless)
The actual problem I am having is that one client isn't being detected by the server properly (this is a wired client)
By this I mean
1) server is set to wake on lan. This client doesn't wake it
2) if server is already on the server sometimes detects this client as active.. But a few minutes later.. This is lost
3) the physical connection is ok. I can access the server without issue if it is on
4)no other clients have this problem
5)both client and server have been reinstalled with same issue
Critically the lack of detection makes client backups fail.
All I can think of is that the network port on my pc doesn't like something.
Any ideas?
