Zalman 900 VGA Cooler How well does it work? Lets see *PICS**

How much does the Zalman vf900cu bring your temps down? Lets see....

I'll be using the BFG Nvidia Geforce 6800GS 256Mb AGP Card.

Room temps were about 25-26 degrees C, I've used 3dMark05 running full tests for about 1hour with Everest logging the temps. I know this isnt the most accurate way to gather info but we are after the temperature drop not the most accurate way of measuring actual temperatures.

Ok here we go...Using the stock heatsink/Fan: Under load

GPU 70 degrees
GPU Ambient 42 degrees

Ok, lets get the Zalman slapped on.....

Mirror finish...very nice

Mirror finish on the Nvidia 6800GPU as well...
I've used Arctic Silver 5 for the thermal paste

Using the ZALMAN heatsink/Fan: Under load

GPU 58 degrees
GPU Ambient 39 degrees

Conclusion

GPU temperature drop of 12 degrees C and also a GPU ambient drop of 3 degrees. Not bad I suppose...Is it worth the dollar?....I think so....

What about the noise difference, is the Zalman quieter or noisier?

got myself a zalmon 700cu its great (I only got it because the fan on my gfx broke), must admit, its quiet! and thats on the faster fan speed and the temps from speed fan. 53oC on idle and load i think are about 65oC, I think its a fair bit cooler. thats on an x800gt

for 30 quid I'd say its worth it, just need to properly overclock the beans out of my card now :D any suggestions? lol

sorry to hijack the thread but if mine does that then the 900 should be good.

I had a VF-700Cu on my 7800GT, it wasn't really that much cooler but it was a lot quieter than the stock cooler which is very important to me.

At the moment I have a 8800GTS and so far the stock cooler is good enough for me.
