I really have to tell you about this cooler for the benefit of anyone thinking about improving their graphics card cooling.

It's a tale of stupidity tbh but a happy ending so I don't care if you laugh at my silliness :)

Ok so I have 2 xfx 7800 gtx cards sli, very nice, very quick but they would reach 75 C on load so I wanted to sort this out. I searched lots of threads, read lots of reviews and plumped on 2 Thermalright V-1 Ultra coolers ( some will be laughing at this stage ) 1st of I will say what great coolers, had a little trouble with the ram heatsinks but apart from that great. Took temps down to the 60's with most games but still in the 70's for that "killer" game Oblivion. I was happy with that as the 2nd card with the stock cooler hit 90 C with Oblivion YES 90 !!!!! Erck. You may be wandering why I hadn't put both coolers on........ well of course you cant as they cover the sli bridge ...... told you I was silly ...... So I was stuck with 1 great cooler and 1 stock cooler.

To sort this I plumped for the Zalman, i had seen some good reviews but nothing that made the earth move. So today in it goes ( installation is a dream compared to the Thermalright ) and on with the games. Oblivion or bust is my motto and after a hefty game session with the zalman fan on full I hit 65 C max Yes you read correctly 65 a drop of 25 C over stock !!!! The Thermalright still hit 75 C so for me and hopefully for anyone else thinking about vga cooling you know the way to go.

My only decision now is do I stick or twist and get the 2nd Zalman :) Oh the stress :)
