Zalman ZM-80D-HP and OcUK GeForce 6800 GS 256MB GDDR3?

Will these work together?

Ive found sites saying the ZM-80D-HP wont work with 6800 GT/6800 Ultra/6600, so wondered if it would work with the GS?

Welcome to the forums

The 6800GS is basically on par with the 6800GT so I'd hazard a guess and say that it won't work. It definitely won't work if you want to use it in it's passive mode

I'd personally get the VF700Cu. This is very quiet on 5V and it's a decent cooler

Can reccomend the VF-700CU as well, i had one on my X1800 XL and it performed excellent, matching stock cooler temps at 5v and smashing them at 12v

I have a ZM 80D HP kicking around in a drawer, seems as though there could be enough metal in it and surface area to work if it is given good airflow.

Do you have good airflow through your case?

Maybe try it with a fan covering it first, check temps at 2D, then run a few 3D things and see what it does.

Highly recommend the 700CU though, I have one now just about to fit on a 7800GT when I get home
