Zalman ZM-NB47J in Asus A8N-VM CSM

Will the Zalman ZM-NB47J fit on the heastink-less 430 chipset? Asus A8N-VM CSM board. I do have a soundcard in one of the PCI slots, but it doesn't overhang the PCI slot let alone over the chip. I could also do with a spare set of fixings to replace the existing northbridge chip (doesn't seem to hold on that well with the spring/plastic clips)

Is there any reason you'd want to? Since you can only overclock this board to 240fsb and it is made on the 90nm process and thus runs a lot cooler than regular nf4 chipsets I really can't see the point. The existing northbridge heatsink should be more than adequate (asus would for sure have tested it at some pretty high ambient case temps for stability)

I run the MSi version of the board with the bare minimum of airflow (2 x 400rpm nexus fans) with no problems using the standard heatsink.

The one furthest away from the CPU has no heatsink at all, unlike Biostar or the MSI version.

have you measured the temp it reaches? I'll measure mine when i get home. I bet it's not hot enough to warrant a heatsink.

why dont you go for the ZM-NB32K looks smaller and easier to bend.
