*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

just did the "kill the Hinox by the river " secondary quest for the zora. Just stood on a cliff and cheesed it by dropping bombs on its head. Lol. Took a good 50 bombs!!

OKay, getting frustrated now. Crashed twice since deleting/reinstalling the update. After installing it, it was on for a fairly long time before crashing, this time about half an hour again, maybe less.

Can you save all your game data, on a usb stick or something? Maybe try a factory reset of the console? Or is there no chance at all that will help.

Just bagged myself a horse. Called it roach. :D

Absolutely love the art style of this game. Being in a forest actually feels like you're in a forest. It's great.

I came across one after kakariko. Fought it face on, took an hour of trying but when I did I couldve walked around the room like a **** pheasant. While looting, a nearby lynel came over and one-shotted me so I had to do it again. The hurt.

Yeah I did too. In the marshes. I was like uh... what is that orange thing sleeping on its back? Big mistake waking it up haha. He quickly dealt with me !

I'm done for the day, had a good run although i spent most of the time exploring and clearing shrines although i have progressed past one of the first milestones in the story. Due to all of my shrine grinding I now have stamina +80% and 9 hearts. Im alternating between the two stats at the moment but i will probably stop increasing stamina at +100%. Stamina isn't always useful but it comes into its own when you can glide ~800m to a shrine from the top of a tower and for climbing/swimming in general.

Spent quite a few hours on this today, it's excellent although a bit dangerous. You start playing and before you know it 4/5 hours have flown by.

How do you know how far you're gliding to a shrine ? When you say 800m? :D

There was a guy at the top of a tower somewhere that measured glide distance. This was earlier in the game and i had a fair bit less stamina at that point but i managed over 500+m before i touched down. The ~800m is just an estimate of the total distance i travelled, i can't say how far it really was but its a reasonable guess

Sunk around 15-20 hours into this now and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Some of the towers are hard and the shrine puzzles can be really tough. There's just so much to do I was feeling a bit overwhelmed but then I thought whatever, I'm just going to explore. Map is mind blowingly huge. I've met 2 Hinox things. Just faced them up dark souls style dodging and hitting with sword. Pretty intense! Amazing game.

Still can't nail the dodge every time. is it ZL +left or right? Or do I need to press X ?

I can only get the backflip dodge working correctly. ZL + down + X at the right time. It depends on the mob, its weapon, and its attack as to whether I nail it.

I find it easiest with the mini-guardians in shrines. A practice dummy would be great.

I just realised that the Wii U can now play

Windwaker
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Breath of the Wild.

But can call none of it as its own.

yes you need to press ZL +left or right plus X which is jump button.
Once you get to a certain shrine, you will learn the skills, then they appear on the system page ability controls.

Breath of the wild is a wii u title.
The only thing i dont like about the wii u version is nintendo didnt make use of the gamepad screen,
would have been nice to have map and inventory on the gamepad screen.
But i guess nintendo didnt want to give the wii u version more than the switch version.
