*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

It doesn't have that much power :D deteriorates really quickly.

Master Sword already?!?

I take it you have done all 4 Devine beasts?

I am at the "1st" one by Zora, 4 hearts, 5 swords....wish me luck lol Before that I went to collect the shock arrows, tried to fight the guy but had no chance, at all!

I've only done two. The zora and the rito. :p I've got about 14 hearts though and one stamina upgrade.

Just been smashing the shrines at the moment. I feel like I've only just scratched the surface.

As well as shock arrows remember to take some ordinary arrows too. You really don't wanna run out of normal arrows. ;)

I used all mine up and had to warp back to a town to buy a load. :(

Have you got any amiibo? Found out today the only way to get Epona is to have the Smash Bros Link. :(

Nope. I've not got any amiibo.

I've heard you can find epona wild ? Maybe I'm wrong. I managed to tame a black horse with a white tail etc. It's got 4 stamina boosts. It goes like a bat out of hell ! :D (Edit: ironically named it roach)

I'm struggling to find a torch to light the second sacred blue fire for the second ancient lab  I used to find loads. And Now none ! And I've done every tower :(

Second ancient lab?

The first time took me ages, like you I ran out of torches!!! I even used a wooden ladle as a torch!....then accidentally I discovered if you hack the smaller trees down with a sword you get a tree branch which you can use as a torch. Actually, any wooden weapon can be used as a torch.

I have 8-bit link, Windwaker Link, small and giant Yarn Yoshi, now i am never out of meat!

Ah bummer. There's plenty of equally good horses anyways.. :p

I tried using a moblin club as a torch but it just doesn't last as long. I'll try a tree branch though !

Using meat for cooking = selling the meals for easy money :D

Edit. Yeah. The first ancient lab you encounter tells you about a second lab run by a dude called Robbie.

Really enjoying this as a newbie to zelda games, half the time have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing but I love the open world nature of the game. I've only just got the 4th orb and acquired the glider.

My Zelda arrived yesterday on a Monday, from that Amazon debacle. Took me a while to get it sorted since I had to make space on the WiiU's pathetic <32GB internal storage for the update files but at least it's here. So far it's had me very impressed. I'm loving the stealth mechanics and the open-world just surprised me. If you think you've seen it all with an open world game... think again. A shame that I can only play after work for the next few days, would have been nice to have it arrive on launch. I can totally see a non-WiiU owner buying a Switch just for this game (otherwise buy it on WiiU if you own a WiiU already and don't have a Switch).

Now I've just seen this hardback guide and then I saw that there's this very pricey deluxe version. £60 for a book? I must say I'm very tempted since I love collecting these guides, but a fair piece of advice to folks, prices drop fast on these books. I got the Uncharted 4 hardback Collector's guide for £15 or less last year. But then I tell myself that if I would spend £60 on a book, then why not spend £300 on a new console lol?

Only question I have gameplaywise so far:
How do you kill those sentry turrets outside the 2nd dungeon where you get the bombs? And are they worth killing?

I bought the £25 hard back guide, not opened it, lovely cover though. Don't think Zelda stuff will drop much price wise, can't be that many Uncharted collectors.

Playing on the wii u and while the game is great the framerate is terrible. Im getting the switch for my son in a couple of months so i might try it on that.
If this run at 60fps it would be epic

I'm new to Amiibo in games, but I have the giant Yarn Yoshi and the small one because let's be honest, they're cool as ****. You can use them in this game?!

Apparently you can parry with the shield if you press 'A' at the right time.

I had no idea about this!

You will need a guardian shield which you can acquire from temples occasionally. I've not tried it yet but if you parry at the correct time you can direct their beam explosion thing back at them

I got the hardback guide too. I only use it when I am really stuck and I like to get 100% after I complete the quest for Zelda.

Well, got my first horse last night. But I'm running past a lot of stuff so will speak to the guy at the village for the main quest and then go out and explore :)

I resorted to using tree branches for that, took ages as they kept burning out, then it started raining so had to abandon it altogether. Once I had done it though I turned around in Robbie's lab and there was a torch leaning against the wall! :o

You seen that cube structure in the sea near his lab? That looks ominous.

Anyone done Eventide Island yet? I visited there early on but gave up when I saw a Hinox and was being obliterated by Octoroks, but the quest/objective is really cool. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't been yet. :)

Other Korok bits I've found:

Anything in a circle - dive into it or throw a rock into it or complete the circle if it's not whole already
Several repeating patterns - add the missing piece
Two cube-based shapes in a cliff/wall - make them match
Wells with a chained rock - put the rock in the well
Rocks and a faraway hole - get the rock in the hole, stasis can help
Bowls with fruit - put the same fruit in all bowls
Small rock all by itself - pick it up
Huge (wide) trees - climb to the top

More

1.Little sparkles that chase around puddles. You have to run around trying to catch up but when you do you can examine and a Korok appears.
2.Tree stumps with a leaf engraving on the top, stand of them and a ring will appear you then have to get to the ring before the time runs out.
