*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

It really is quite amazing what they have done. At first glance the world isn't densely populated. Then you realise that you are supposed to explore and not necessarily be fighting mobs of enemies every 2 minutes. The scale of the world, the thought that has been put into every area of the game is astonishing.

How's the switch in handheld mode now people have had time to get used to it? The asymmetric analog sticks are really putting me off as the right one just looks really awkward unless you have tiny hands.

I've personally only played about 10% on TV. All the rest in handheld and I love the form factor. 3DS is pitiful by comparison. I have pretty average hands (but the appendage of an angry killer whale grrrrrr trump).

I am most impressed by the verticality of it, the way the terrain goes up and down and valleys and open fields to beaches to rock cliffs to rice fields to forests to swamps to massive canyons and HUGH mountains and massive waterfalls. The fact that you can get on every surface of them all makes you appreciate the scale of it so much more.

I am absolutely bowled over by this game. It is truly outstanding, I bought a 2nd hand Wii u just to play it. Spent 5 hours just getting off the Great Plateau. Never had this much fun in many many years of gaming, feel like a kid all over again.

Amen.

It's truly engaging and really satisfying to play - plus fire arrows make me smile so hard my face aches.

It's fine, however it's considerably more comfortable with the joycons disconnected from the device imo.

I've used it in handheld for probably 5 or 6 hours so far. I have large hands and the Switch feels fine. I haven't tried it with the joycons detached. No issues with the sticks they feel great.

Is the game any good... I am very unsure on getting one.

Also... let play a game of guess what each other are wearing...
I call you out for wearing headphones and an 80's check Shirt.

:)
Great game. Best I have played in a long while and I have played quite a few.

I have been to the top of every tower it seems. There is one area to the west which I cannot reveal the map as there seems to be no tower for it. I suppose it is quest area.

Done close to 40 shrines so far. Love it!

The most fun I've had from a game in years, just so many little and big moments that put a smile on your face. I've been gaming for almost 30 years and this is definitely in my top 3 already (40 shrines, one boss down).

I now at 41 shines and 2 divine beast down. Just finished 2 major test of strength shrines. There is one more but I will leave it until later.

I have 10 hearts and a full extra wheel of stamina which comes in handy :D

I resisted doing quests until I explored a bit and went up all towers. Now that that it done, I will go kill the 2 remaining beasts, but before I do, there is one more main quest that I want to do, searching for this director guy at the Hateno Tech Lab. Honestly, this game is too good :D

Loving this game!
Picked it up in the local Argos on release day.
Have only done 1 divine beast and have been exploring ever since :)
I left my horse at the stable, as I felt that I would miss part otherwise.

Wow ! And they're like, so easy to fish with bombs. :D

Haven't had chance to play today. Literally just hit goron village last night.

Made it to Rito Village!

Bought all 3 clothing pieces, cost me over 2k rupees! had to sell a lot of dishes to make up 900 as I was short.

Although i notice it is only got mild cold, what do I do for extreme cold?

I think that's as cold as it gets. I've never found an "extreme" cold like I have the heat.

I've never needed anything more than the rito clothes to keep the cold from killing me :p

I tried to climb towards Lanyard mountain and ate some spicy pepper food and didn't do much and was still losing hearts. But there was another dish I cooked that gave me 2 cold resistance icon that worked.

I couldn't work out why my bomb arrows weren't working earlier.

I guess the rain makes them damp and stops them exploding...Pretty cool.

I had the opposite problem, died about 3 times on Death Mountain trying to fire bomb arrows at a Lizalfos. I kept thinking they were glitching and hitting the rock I was hiding behind but they were exploding from the heat.
