Hey all,

Hopefully going from XP SP3 to Win7 Pro shortly & came across this for migrating from Xp to Win7. Appears to keep all settings, etc intact, and also allows you to switch between Win7 & your old Xp install instantly if needed.

Anyone here used it ?

I'm getting it as soon as I get Windows 7 for my desktop.

I had to endure a total nightmare when I upgraded my laptop to 7 manually. That was horrible. No more.

Zinstall seems to be getting good reviews (I read about them in PC Advisor today).

I'll post how it goes - should be in a couple of days.

OK, I did it! I'm running Windows 7 - and got all the XP stuff running, too! Very happy. :)

My PC about 2 years old, a quad-core, 4GB RAM, 1TB hard drive.
It used to run XP SP2 Pro 32bit. It now runs Win7 Pro 64bit!

Migration was very fast. I've got some 300GB used space, and it was done in under 2 hours!

Zinstall does everything it promises - all the apps really run, indistinguishable from the old PC, including stuff like Outlook Express, Office XP, etc. which are "incompatible" with 7.

I can't praise it enough.
Only drawback is that games with heavy graphics use like GTA SA do NOT run well under Zinstall - need to install them on Windows 7.

MoodyB - hope this helps. Good luck with your migration!

Thanks for letting me know how you got on :)

The upgrade sounded painless, so I'll pick this up when I order the parts for my build.
