You're confusing infected with zombies.

AFAIK Zombies are dead people, therefore you can't get 'infected' from a zombie, the only way to become a zombie is to die.

You're wrong. In Night of the Living Dead, the girl has been bitten and falls ill, the bite 'infects' her and she becomes a zombie, and then kills her mother.

I think you're confusing fiction with reality.

Neither are real, and the directors/writers/developers can make them do whatever they want.

Zombie bites kill you then turn you into a zombie, 28 days later zombies aren't normal zombies though in that they're infected by a specific known virus and it's the "rage virus" rather than the mysterious unknown zombie infection that came from who knows where and spreads.

Plus they act differently, they're angry and full of rage and still actually alive, not powered by the infection like regular zombies who are clinically dead.
