ZyXel 660HW feedback

ive got one, it. wouldnt buy one again, but its not too bad that im need a new one! it works, thats about it.

latest firmware caused adsl disconects every 2-4 mins. so im on the version before that.

not highly recomended,

i read the reviews too. but at the time nobody else had one so i thought i would try it. kinda wish i hadnt now. save your self the hassle and get something that more people have, so if something does go wrong then you have more people to ask.

whats making you want this router? if its the bandwidth management then it doesnt work. well, i havent been able to get it to do anything usefull. it only seams to work(ish) for LAN traffic not WLAN stuff. the latest firmware had some extra stuff in there to do with WLAN but as i said the latest firmware is dire.

I've got two P660R's... they're okay, but only if you don't use NAT.

With NAT they're absolutely horrid.

Zyxel 660

I recently ordered one of these.. it came but would not pick up any adsl signal... the light would not even flash on the rotuer for the dsl connection.. so i sent it back and just got another sent to me... but still getting the same issue...

I have a belkin router at the mo and that works fine.. but im borrowing that.. i sued to have a netgear but it died during a firmware update... so i thought i would get this Zyxel 660 as it had some really nice features.. I copied all the adsl settings from the Belkin.. but nothing.. not even a little fash of the dsl light to show that its searching for a signal...

I guess ill just have to send it back and get a refund..and order myself another netgear... I only have standard ADSL but its suppost to support that as well... maybe my line is too noisy for it but i would at least expect it to try and lock onto a signal... oh well..

just a quick question to anyone who has one of these..

the dsl light should start flicknig onto a signal as soon as u plug the adsl line into it right ?? all my other routers have...

anyway thanks

hmm my friend who is in the business of these things rates them pretty highly, will have to have a little chat as I've got one on order from ocuk as they were so cheap, £30 cheaper than his site.

These units have been praised highly on their ADSL performance.

The firmware is a bit of a tricky subject however. I guess more errors can come to light with these all-in-one devices.

Think I'll stick with my 6 yr old 3com adsl router, seperate wireless AP and additional NAT router for the moment. ;)

i juat dont understand why it dont pick up a connection :(

ah well guess ill just to get a refund and order myself a new netgear router as i had no issues with that until the firmware upgrade killed it lol..
